Data Privacy Day

Held each year on January 28, Data Privacy Day is part of an international effort to empower and educate people to protect their privacy and control their digital footprint. It is led by the National Cyber Security Alliance, a nonprofit, public-private partnership dedicated to cybersecurity education and awareness.

Peak 10 is doing its part to promote the importance of data privacy in conjunction with the initiative, and will host the Peak 10 Data Privacy Expert Roundtable on Wednesday, February 5 at 1:00 pm EST. Data security experts from various companies will join Peak 10’s in-house expert for an online discussion on data privacy best practices with a special focus on data security in the cloud. Panelists:

Andrew Jaquith - Chief Technology Officer and SVP, Cloud Strategy, SIlverSky

Andrew Jaquith brings 20 years of IT and information security experience to SilverSky, most recently as a senior analyst with Forrester Research. At Forrester, Andrew led team coverage for data, endpoint and mobile security topics. In his time at Forrester, he wrote 20 popular reports on data leak prevention, encryption, endpoint security, mobile security and vendor M&A. Notable recent reports include "Security in the Post-PC Era," "Apple's iPhone and iPad: Secure Enough for Business?" and "The Forrester Wave: Data Leak Prevention Suites." Andrew consulted with and assisted 300 enterprise and vendor customers annually with vendor selection, compliance, strategy and effective practices.

Prior to joining Forrester, he was program manager in Yankee Group's enabling technologies enterprise group, with coverage of client security, digital identity, and web application security. Before joining Yankee Group, he co-founded @stake, a security consulting pioneer, which Symantec acquired in 2004. Before @stake, he held project manager and business analyst positions at Cambridge Technology Partners and FedEx.

Andrew's security research has been featured in publications such as CIO,CSO, and the IEEE Security and Privacy Magazine. In addition, he is the co-developer of the Apache JSPWiki open source wiki software package, and the author of the 2007 Addison-Wesley Professional book Security Metrics: Replacing Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. The book has sold more than 10,000 copies and has been praised by reviewers as "one of the best written security books ever."

Andrew holds a BA in Economics and Political Science from Yale University.

David Kidd — Director of QA and Compliance, Peak 10

David Kidd joined the Peak 10 management team in November 2000 and has more than 20 years of management experience in information technology. Mr. Kidd oversees Peak 10's governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance activities including quality assurance, data center commissioning, business continuity planning and related activities.

Mr. Kidd previously served as president of the 7x24 Exchange of the Carolinas and has received professional training and certification through his involvement with the Disaster Recovery Institute International (DRII) and the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA).

Prior to joining Peak 10, Mr. Kidd served in the management team of several entrepreneurial, high-growth ventures in software development, banking, and telecommunications.

Mr. Kidd holds a degree in Business Economics from Wofford College where he was recognized as a Crenshaw Scholar, a Kennedy Scholar and a United Methodist Church Bicentennial Scholar.

Manny Ladis, SVP of Sales and Marketing, Dizzion

As SVP of Sales and Marketing, Manny is responsible for the planning, execution and management of Dizzion’s sales and marketing strategy. He has more than seventeen years of hands-on experience in the highly competitive technology sector. Most recently, he was the Director of Sales for Denver-based ViaWest. Manny played an instrumental role in the growth and success of ViaWest, seeing it grow from a start-up Internet Service Provider to one of the largest colocation and managed services providers over 12 years. He secured many of the largest customers in ViaWest’s history and was a President’s Club member every year during his tenure.

Manny has extensive experience selling to both the public and private sector and has successfully built channel programs and inside sales teams. He is an advocate of technology growth in Colorado. He is currently on the board of EFCO (Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado) and volunteers with groups like CTA (Colorado Technology Association) and The Founder Institute.

Manny is a graduate of Michigan State University where he earned his BA in Finance. He has a wife and two young daughters and enjoys running, soccer and playing his mandolin.

Kyle Duke, VP of IT & CISO, Cigna-HealthSpring

As the VP of IT & CISO for Cigna-HealthSpring, Kyle Duke is responsible for leading information technology security and compliance efforts for HIPAA, SOX and PCI. In this role he is responsible for information security policies, procedures, standards and guidelines to ensure the protection of the company's information assets. Kyle and his team are responsible for identity and access management, IT compliance monitoring, risk assessment, IT security awareness, managing IT security related applications and other efforts to improve information security and ensure regulatory compliance. Kyle is also Cigna-HealthSpring's technology lead for some of the company's strategic initiatives including M&A activity and Health Information Exchange.

He is the first Chief Information Security Officer at Cigna-HealthSpring and has been responsible for developing the information security program and building the information security team. Since Cigna acquired HealthSpring in January 2012, he has been responsible for leading key initiatives to integrate the two security programs.

During Kyle's tenure at Cigna-HealthSpring he has also lead the teams responsible for technology for Cigna-HealthSpring's Living Well Clinics and applications to support Heath Services and Sales. This included supporting the clinic's EMR, sales CRM system, utilization and case management systems and Partnership for Quality program systems.

Prior to Cigna-HealthSpring, Kyle was the Chief Technology Officer for Insight HealthCare Financial where he was responsible for leading all technology initiatives for the organization. Prior to Insight, he worked as a consultant for Frasier, Dean & Howard where he focused on assisting clients with SOX compliance projects. He also served as a Manager of Information Systems for CHD Meridian Healthcare and the Director of IT for Patterson School of Accounting, University of Mississippi.

Kyle holds a BA in Computer Science from Maryville College and an MBA from Lipscomb University. He also studied accounting at the University of Mississippi. Kyle is a Certified Public Accountant. He is a member of ISACA, Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), HIMSS and the Nashville Technology Council. He serves as a board member of the Tennessee chapter of HIMSS and the Nashville Technology Council. Additionally, he was co-founder of Young Health Care Leaders now Leadership Healthcare an organization that supports developing health care leaders in Nashville. He was a contributing author to "There's A New Sheriff In Town" published by the Executive Alliance. Kyle has served as a host, governing body member and panel presenter for several IT security leaders conferences. In 2010, he was nominated for the ISE Southeast Information Security Executive of the Year and was voted the People's Choice award winner. In 2012, he was the winner of the Nashville Technology Council CISO of the Year award.
